Let The Light In!

by admin on June 25, 2012

Mirrors are indispensible as a home accessory. They come in loads of different shapes, sizes and designs, so it is usually pretty easy to find something to suit your surroundings.

One style of mirror whicch has become increasingly popular in recent times is the window effect mirror. It can help create a trompe l’oeil effect that looks like a real window. This, in turn, creates the illusion of adding light to a room and in a smaller space it can give the impression of greater dimensions. We had a look at what was available on the market and came up with the following options, at a range of different price points:

Artisanto Distressed Window Mirror: This is the cheapest option we have selected, but even still it will set you back around £100.00 from artisanti.com. It features an inset circle design which would suit a nautical theme or look good in a bathroom.

Dooleys Furniture Arched Window: Coming in at £159.00, this mirror – or better still a pair of them – would help to transform any living space by creating an illusion of light and airiness, while at the same time giving any room a beautiful architectural feature – (see dooleysfurniture.com for more info).

Graham & Green Lattice Window Mirror: This is the most expensive mirror we have picked out at over £250.00, but in our view, if you can stretch to it, it is really worth the investment. The mirror features sixteen panes and would work perfectly in the hall as a faux window, or would be just right sitting atop a traditional fireplace. Check it out at grahamandgreen.co.uk.

So there you have it, three elegant mirrors which would not look out of place in any environment. The choice is yours!
